Lake Louise Ski Resort, roughly an hour's drive, is one of the largest ski areas in North America. Norquay & Nordic Skiing

Mount Norquay is Banff's original ski hill, just 20 minutes from Canmore. It's the perfect spot for a quick half-day on the slopes, with excellent night skiing and a more intimate, local feel. For cross-country enthusiasts, the Canmore Nordic Centre is right in town. Built for the 1988 Winter Olympics, it offers world-class groomed trails for both classic and skate skiing, plus fat biking in winter.
